MANILA, A three-year-old girl and a 2-month-old boy were pulled alive from the mud more than two days after a massive landslide crashed into several villages in Davao de Oro province in southern Philippines, the Philippine Red Cross said Friday.

In a statement, the humanitarian agency’s chairman Dick Gordon said the two survivors were immediately taken to a local hospital in a nearby town.
The landslide, which occurred Tuesday night near a mining site in Maco town, killed at least 11 and injured 34 villagers.
The provincial government said over 100 others remain missing and buried under the tons of mud, rocks, and trees that rolled down from a mountainside. Search and retrieval operations are still ongoing.
