Dr. Pavan Kumar Mandal is a distinguished educational leader, dedicated academician, and transformative principal with more than three decades of teaching experience and over 14 years of exemplary leadership in school administration. Currently serving as the Principal of Shree Janata Model Secondary School, Giddha-Belapatti, Bideha Municipality–6, Dhanusha, he has been instrumental in elevating a rural community school into one of the largest and most recognized educational institutions in Nepal.

Dr. Mandal holds a Ph.D. from Delhi University, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Education from Tribhuvan University. His specialization in Nepali language education, combined with his strong academic background, enables him to foster a learning environment that integrates linguistic proficiency with social awareness. His professional mission is deeply rooted in serving rural communities, particularly addressing critical social issues such as child marriage, dowry systems, gender-based violence, discrimination, and human rights.

Upon assuming the role of principal in 2068 B.S., Dr. Mandal encountered a school facing severe infrastructural, academic, and administrative challenges. With only a handful of classrooms, limited teaching staff, and inadequate facilities, the institution was struggling to meet basic educational standards. Through visionary leadership, strategic planning, and strong collaboration with stakeholders, he initiated a comprehensive transformation process.

Under his guidance, the school has achieved remarkable growth and recognition. It is now ranked first in Madhesh Province and second nationwide in terms of student enrollment, serving over 5,700 students with a dedicated team of 85 teachers. The institution has expanded its physical infrastructure significantly, including the construction of modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, libraries, training halls, hostels, sanitation facilities, and safe drinking water systems. Additionally, the school has introduced technical education programs such as animal science and ensures free education from grades 1 to 12, making quality education accessible to all, especially marginalized communities.

Dr. Mandal’s contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Prabal Janasewa Shree Award conferred by the President of Nepal, as well as honors from the Department of Education and educational organizations for his excellence in school leadership.

Beyond his administrative responsibilities, he remains actively engaged in social service. He provides free tuition to underprivileged students and personally supports the education of over 40 orphaned and economically disadvantaged children. His unwavering commitment to educational equity, social transformation, and community development continues to inspire both educators and learners.
