Kathmandu, May 10 — Embassy of Pakistan observed “Marka-e-Haq Day” today with solemnity and national pride at the Embassy premises in Kathmandu.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi in the presence of Embassy officials, members of the Pakistani community, their families, and friends of Pakistan. Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read on the occasion.
In his message, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said that Marka-e-Haq demonstrated to the world that Pakistan’s deterrence is based on professional competence, tri-service coordination, and the unwavering resolve of its people. He paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and honoured the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif described the day as a moment of gratitude and remembrance, paying tribute to the martyrs, their families, and the armed forces for defending the country’s sovereignty. He said the coordinated response of Pakistan’s forces across land, sea, air, and cyber domains reflected the nation’s strength and unity.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia requires addressing core regional issues, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace, dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual respect.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Hashmi paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the resilience of the Pakistani people in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said Marka-e-Haq symbolizes Pakistan’s national unity, determination, and steadfast commitment to defending its sovereignty in the face of aggression.
