With over 35 years of experience, Diwakar has built his career primarily through field-based photojournalism, where observation, timing and credibility are as important as technical expertise. Since 1998, he has been associated with India Today, contributing photographs and visual reportage to one of India’s prominent media institutions. His work has provided a visual perspective on India’s diverse political, cultural and social landscape.

Throughout his career, Diwakar has covered a wide spectrum of subjects, ranging from political developments and public movements to cultural traditions, natural disasters, conflict, borders and human-interest stories.
