KATHMANDU, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising held a meeting with British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn at Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Ambassador Fenn congratulated Minister Ghising on his new appointment and wished him a successful tenure. Discussions covered the long-standing Nepal–UK friendship, British support in the energy sector, prospects for infrastructure investment, and cooperation to mitigate the impacts of climate change, according to the ministry.

Minister Ghising said that following the GenZ movement and the formation of the new government, its key priorities were reconstruction, general elections, and good governance. He emphasized the importance of Britain’s role in Nepal’s energy sector, highlighting UK support in establishing electric vehicle charging stations.

Ambassador Fenn reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to assist Nepal, recalling Britain’s position as one of Nepal’s oldest friends. He stressed that Nepal’s prosperity was also a matter of importance for the UK.
