A stunning century from Kushal Bhurtel and a brilliant bowling performance by Dipendra Singh Airee guided the Nepal national cricket team to a dominant 9-wicket victory over the United States in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series on Saturday.
Chasing 196 runs, Nepal comfortably achieved the target in 36.4 overs with only one wicket lost. Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh put together a magnificent 145-run opening partnership, marking Nepal’s second-highest opening stand and fourth-highest partnership overall in ODI history.
Nepal had previously lost to Scotland by 2 runs through the DLS method in their opening match. The team will face Scotland again on Monday before meeting the USA once more in the final game on Friday.
