Mr. Santosh Prasai: Chief Executive Officer, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Limited

Mr. Santosh Prasai took charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Limited on March 1, 2024. Backed by more than a decade of professional experience, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge, strategic vision, and regulatory expertise that positions him as one of the prominent figures in Nepal’s insurance and financial landscape.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Prasai successfully led Prabhu Life Insurance Limited as CEO from May 25, 2022, to July 13, 2023. During his leadership, he focused on strengthening operational systems, enhancing client trust, and aligning the organization with evolving market trends. His tenure was marked by innovation, steady growth, and resilience in a highly competitive sector.

His career path is equally noteworthy at Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited, where he began in 2074 as Deputy General Manager (DGM). His strong performance earned him promotions to Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) and later to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a position he held until 2078. In this role, he contributed significantly to building Nepal Life’s reputation as a dependable brand, introduced customer-focused strategies, and promoted sound governance practices.

Before moving into corporate leadership, Mr. Prasai served as the Head of Inspection at Beema Samiti, Nepal’s insurance regulatory authority, for seven years. This role enriched his understanding of supervisory frameworks, compliance structures, and the regulatory environment, giving him a comprehensive perspective on the insurance industry from both governance and executive leadership sides.

Academically, Mr. Prasai is a Chartered Accountant (CA), qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and a Master’s Degree in Commerce (M.Com) from the University of Madras, Chennai, India, establishing a strong foundation in financial management and corporate affairs.
