Mrs. Susan Karmacharya is a distinguished and dynamic figure whose substantial contributions have influenced Nepal’s hydropower, finance, education, healthcare, and entrepreneurial sectors. Her remarkable career is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the nation’s sustainable progress and economic growth. Currently, Mrs. Karmacharya presides as the Executive Chairperson of Madema Khola Hydropower Ltd. (MKHPL), overseeing the development of a pivotal 24 MW hydropower project in Kaski District, Gandaki Province.
This project is slated for completion in 2024. Concurrently, she guides Yambaling Hydropower Ltd. (YHPL), which is advancing a 7.27 MW hydropower project in Sindhupalchowk District, expected to be operational by July 2023. These initiatives are key to Nepal’s ambition to harness its immense hydropower potential and achieve energy independence. Looking ahead, she is also spearheading the Mathillo Budhigandaki Hydropower Project (203 MW) in Chunmubri Rural Municipality, Gorkha, a landmark project set to enhance Nepal’s clean energy capacity significantly.

Her leadership journey also includes her successful term as Chairperson of Eastern Hydropower Ltd. (EHPL), under which the 5 MW Pikhuwa Khola Hydropower project in Bhojpur Municipality was finished in 2019. Her forward-thinking management has been crucial in expanding Nepal’s clean energy infrastructure. Beyond her work in the energy sector, she is an active participant in Nepal’s financial landscape, serving as Chairperson of Money Plant Investment Company Pvt. Ltd. and Money Plant Saving & Co-operative Ltd., thereby fostering financial inclusion and expansion. Additionally, she also the chairperson of Kalash Holdings Pvt. Ltd., a cow farm venture, reflecting her commitment to sustainable agriculture and rural development.

Mrs. Karmacharya’s entrepreneurial drive is evident in her establishment of Ojashwi Suppliers Pvt. Ltd., Ojashwi Construction Pvt. Ltd., Sky Blue LED & Electronics Technology Pvt. Ltd., and Sky Blue Furniture & Furnishing Pvt. Ltd., showcasing her diverse expertise, innovation, and sharp business insight. Adding to her extensive background, she served as Personal Secretary to Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha from 2011 to 2012, an experience that provided her with valuable insights into governance and administration.
