Kathmandu, Nepal – Celebrated Nepali singer, composer, and music producer Shiva Pariyar has been honored with the National Music Award 2081 for Best Male Vocal Performance, adding another milestone to his illustrious career.

Born on February 22, 1982, in Hazaria VDC, Sarlahi district, Shiva displayed remarkable musical talent from a young age, winning district-level children’s song competitions in 1994 and 1996. He pursued formal training under Guru Chandan Kumar Shrestha in classical music (Gwalior Gharana style) and further honed his skills in Tabla, Guitar, and Piano. Shiva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, India, and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Music.

Shiva’s professional journey began with a Gold Medal at the National Contemporary Music Competition hosted by Radio Nepal in 2003. He released his debut album Moksha in 2005 and has since recorded over 300 songs across 10 albums, with hits like Phewatalma Saili, Pagal Banayau Priya, Timi Nai Mero Saas Hau, and Kya Daami Bho. His upcoming 11th album, Shivalaya, is already creating excitement among fans.

Known for blending semi-classical, folk, pop, and modern melodies, Shiva has won numerous national accolades, including the Narayan Gopal Youth Music Award (2012), Hits FM Best Male Singer (2016), and Kantipur Music Award (2017 & 2021). He has also been recognized internationally, receiving the Hamlet Manzueta Award in the Arts from Jersey City, USA.

Shiva Pariyar has performed extensively in countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, including the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, UAE, India, and numerous tours across Nepal.

Away from the stage, Shiva enjoys family life with his wife Sunita Koushal and their daughter Suhana Ranapal in Kadaghari Pepsicola, Kathmandu.

From his humble beginnings in Sarlahi to performing on international stages, Shiva Pariyar’s journey reflects talent, dedication, and perseverance, solidifying his status as one of Nepal’s most respected musical icons.
