KATHMANDU, The price of gold has fallen by Rs 2,000 per tola in the Nepali market on Monday, continuing its downward trend.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold now stands at Rs 239,900 per tola, down from Rs 241,900 on the previous trading day.

This follows a sharp Rs 11,600 decline on Sunday, bringing the total drop since the end of the Tihar festival to Rs 13,600 per tola.

Just a few weeks earlier, on October 17, gold had reached an all-time record high of Rs 258,000 per tola in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, silver prices have also dipped, falling by Rs 35 per tola — from Rs 3,015 to Rs 2,980 per tola, the federation reported.
